Video - Past continuous VS Past simple

How well do you know English grammar? Here we teach you two commonly confused grammar points - the past simple and the past continuous! 👉 We use the English PAST SIMPLE TENSE for something that happened and finished in the past. We use it when we say or know the time when something happened. 👉 We use the PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE for something that happened in the past but was not finished at a particular time. This can be an exact time in the past (12 o’clock, etc.) or the time when another thing happened. ☺️Watch the video to learn how to use both!☺️ You'll find a quiz on our website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/lower-intermediate/unit-7/session-2/activity-1 0:00 Introductions 0:07 Past Simple & the Past Continuous 4:31 Quiz More Grammar Lessons: Talking About Past Mistakes: https://youtu.be/-Z7zIim929U The Past Simple: https://youtu.be/PgsG98vByiw How to Use Past Participles: https://youtu.be/dJ4JbS1f4JE #6MinuteGrammar #BBCLearningEnglish #LearnEnglish
